25-Year-Old Police Officer Commits Suicide With Service Weapon in Yerevan

A tragic incident occurred today, December 9, in Yerevan. According to shamshyan.com, at around 09:15, the emergency response center received a call indicating that a medical team was dispatched to 3 Mazmanyan street, where they discovered a man's body.

Police and investigators found the body of 25-year-old Vahagn M. in the security room of the facility belonging to the Investigative Committee of Armenia's Yerevan City Investigation Department for Ajapnyak and Davtashen administrative districts, showing signs of a gunshot wound.

A Makarov service pistol, registered in his name, was also found at the scene. Preliminary information suggests that he took his own life with the service weapon. The deceased was employed in the Department of State Protection of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia, specifically in the Mashtots Protection Division.
