NATO Responds to Joint Statement of Armenia and Azerbaijan

NATO has welcomed the joint statement of Armenia and Azerbaijan. This was announced by Javier Colomina, NATO’s Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia, on his page on X.

“I welcome the joint statement of Armenia and Azerbaijan, which declares a clear commitment to the mutual release of detainees, other measures to build trust, and the long-awaited peace agreement,” Colomina wrote. “NATO firmly supports these efforts and the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.”

It is noteworthy that a statement was issued yesterday indicating that Azerbaijan will return 32 Armenian detainees in exchange for 2 Azerbaijanis.
