VIDEO: Gagik Voskanyan Sentenced to 18 Years in Prison

Gagik Voskanyan has been sentenced to 18 years in prison in Azerbaijan. This information has been reported by Azerbaijani media.

Today in Baku, the trial of Gagik Ashoti Voskanyan, who was unlawfully detained in the occupied region of Artsakh's Karvachar, took place. Voskanyan is accused of attempting to 'breach the state border of Azerbaijan and carry out terrorist and diversionary activities' on August 16.

It is worth noting that in August of this year, the Azerbaijan Prosecutor's Office announced the initiation of a criminal case against reserve officer Gagik Voskanyan and his subsequent arrest. On August 16, the Ministry of Defense of Armenia reported that reserve officer G. V. had allegedly left his combat position voluntarily. The Ministry of Defense denied reports suggesting that the Armenian Armed Forces attempted a diversionary infiltration in the eastern sector of the border zone.
