New Details Emerge from School Shooting in Russia: Casualties Reported
Two individuals have been reported dead and four injured following a shooting incident at a gymnasium in Bryansk, with preliminary reports suggesting that one of the deceased may be the shooter themselves. This information was communicated by the city administration and reported by RIA Novosti.
“Today at 9:15 AM, the city dispatch service received an alert about an emergency incident at Gymnasium No. 5 in the Bejtski district. Preliminary information indicates that an eighth-grade girl brought a firearm to the school and opened fire. Currently, four injuries and two fatalities have been confirmed. It is possible that one of the deceased is the girl who shot herself,” stated the administration on their Telegram channel.
All other students have been sent home under the supervision of adults. The building has been secured by the police.
The Telegram channel SHOT released a video along with a comment stating, “During the shooting at the Bryansk school, children and teachers hid in the classrooms. However, the target of the eighth grader was her classmates. Alina brought a weapon to school, entered the class, and opened fire on her classmates in Class 8A, after which she shot herself.”
