In Our Region, Whatever Azerbaijan Wanted, It Did, While Russia Either Could Not or Did Not Respond - Alen Simonian
The President of the National Assembly, Alen Simonian, believes that the issue of Russia not supplying arms to Armenia can be resolved cooperatively. He stated, "The Russian side has a chance to demonstrate that it remains faithful to its declared principles and signed documents. However, this will not influence Armenia's decision to ensure its security."
According to Simonian, the fact is that Russia is not fulfilling its obligations, and Armenia must defend its interests.
When asked how he justified the decision not to participate in the CSTO meeting, he replied that he sees no point in attending that meeting. "There are unresolved issues, and people are not fulfilling their obligations," said the National Assembly President.
Simonian pointed out that Azerbaijan has done whatever it wanted in our region, while Russia either could not respond or chose not to. "Do you remember the uproar Russia made when Armenia sent humanitarian aid to Ukraine during the years of war? Azerbaijan has sent similar aid multiple times, but there has been not a peep from Russia's 'just' Foreign Ministry," Simonian noted.
According to Alen Simonian, Russia reacts very painfully to the situation in Armenia, while it pretends not to notice the situation in Azerbaijan.
