What Will This Year's New Year's Decorations in the Capital Cost?

The New Year's decorations in Yerevan will be completely the same as last year's, with only one exception, but the city hall has allocated 11 million drams more for this purpose. Levon Sardarayan, the spokesperson for the company 'SinemaRT' responsible for the New Year's decorations, mentioned this in a conversation with reporters.

He detailed that only the steps leading to the Sports and Concert Complex will not be decorated, while the park adjacent to the metro's 'Republic Square' station will be adorned instead. Sardarayan emphasized that a contract worth approximately 191 million drams was signed with 'SinemaRT' for ensuring the New Year's decorations in 2023, and this year, it will amount to 201 million drams.

"The amount has changed as metal constructions are being made, and the work is being done at night, which incurs additional costs," he stated.

In response to a question from Sputnik Armenia about how the holes made in the walls of the Republic Square buildings will be sealed later, the spokesperson emphasized that the stone dust has been collected and stored for filling work to be done in the spring. When asked how the stone dust collection process was carried out, Sardarayan mentioned, "The worker made the holes and then collected the dust himself." According to Sardarayan, this year, the openings were made and are being executed with a different logic.

"Metal constructions have been made on the columns and arches, and through them, the lights have been secured. Interventions with a small diameter have been made; moreover, the constructions around the columns are secured from three points both at the top and bottom," Sardarayan noted.

He mentioned that according to the contract, the deadline for connecting the New Year's lights in the capital is set for December 25.
