Mr. Aleksanyan Will Confirm the Location of the Green 'Zhiguli,' He Will Inform You: Pashinyan to Khachatryan

Today, during a question-and-answer session in the National Assembly, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed the significance of the Peace Junction while responding to the question from "Armenia" faction MP Arthur Khachatryan, who demanded that government members present the benefits of the junction, including passenger and freight traffic increases.

The Prime Minister first noted that these roads are the roads of the Republic of Armenia, which serve dozens of settlements. "It’s like asking what the need is for constructing the Yerevan-Sevan-Ijevan-Berd or the Novoberian or Goris or Kapan roads; we are building all of them. This is the story of the yellow Zhiguli, I want to understand the subtext, I’m interested in hearing your answers, I want to understand your thought process, but I can’t. All roads are being repaired because they are the roads of the Republic of Armenia and will continue to be repaired. Furthermore, there are ongoing repairs even now, and we have calculations regarding your question, which we can provide. These calculations are made by an international organization. The Peace Junction is not a mere economic calculation; it is a much broader and more comprehensive project that has significant political, security, and regional importance. There’s also a formula here: whether we conducted international studies asking if an open road is good or not. If we do that, it may turn out that another study is also needed," Pashinyan responded.

In response, Khachatryan said, "Mr. Pashinyan, I don’t know where the yellow Zhiguli is; I also don’t know where the green Zhiguli is. Do you remember 02, which your team used to brag about, saying this is the Armenian economy? Where is the green Zhiguli? I also don’t know where that calculation is, which I asked you to present."

The Prime Minister noted, "The green Zhiguli is where our party member Vazgen Manukyan’s Zhiguli is. I forgot to ask where it is, but I believe Mr. Aleksanyan will confirm the vehicle’s location and will inform our opposition. What’s my issue, what condition is there? Now it’s the 21st century; everything is public. Practically anything is posted on the internet within five minutes, sometimes it takes diplomatic channels longer to get results than through the media. This is the 21st century; it’s not 1996, when a document was adopted in Lisbon, and we would not know for 20 years what it said, finding out in the 23rd year. There is no such thing that you don’t know, and not just you—absolutely no one."
