All Migrants Must Respect Russian Laws and Traditions, Says Putin
Labor migrants must align with the interests of the Russian economy, respect the culture, traditions, and laws of the Russian Federation, while their rights should also be respected, said President Vladimir Putin.
“We need to engage labor resources that primarily satisfy the interests of the Russian economy. This means that these people must be prepared from a linguistic and ethno-cultural standpoint; they should know our traditions and laws,” Putin stated during a meeting of the Council for Civil Society and Human Rights Development.
He pointed out that the issue of migrant rights is “very acute.”
“Here, I cannot disagree that we need to maintain the ethno-cultural balance. Of course, everything happening in this area is primarily dictated by the interests of the economy, the shortage of workers, but of course, these people need to be retrained,” the president emphasized.
At the same time, he stressed that it is essential to prioritize the interests of the citizens of the Russian Federation in all areas.
