9-Year-Old Daughter Held Semi-Naked in Closet and Tortured: Details

On November 29, 2023, the prosecutor initiated public criminal proceedings against A.P. for causing severe physical pain and intense psychological suffering to his nine-year-old daughter. 

The prosecutor's office reported that the investigation revealed that A.P. had physically assaulted his daughter by pulling her hair, hitting various parts of her body with his hands and feet, and transferred her from school to their home. He removed her clothing, leaving her wearing only a half shirt and a T-shirt, and took her to a closet located in the yard of their building. She was held in the locked closet for about 2 hours and 30 minutes under cold and dark conditions. Reports indicate that A.P. had engaged in such behavior towards his daughter on a recurring basis. 

The prosecutor has charged A.P. under Article 196, Part 2, Points 3 and 6 of the Criminal Code (causing severe physical pain or intense psychological suffering to a minor dependent on the offender). Pretrial detention has been imposed on A.P., and his nine-year-old daughter has been transferred to a child protection center.
