“Until I Finished Middle School, Armenia Recognized Artsakh as Part of Azerbaijan at Least 5 Times,” Says MP from the ruling party
As we discuss the criminalization or decriminalization of recognizing Nagorno-Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan, I must say that by the time I finished middle school, the Armenian authorities had recognized Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan in at least five different ways.
This was stated by Maria Karapetyan, a member of the Civil Contract faction, during a meeting of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs.
“You find it amusing that various dates are cited regarding when Armenia recognized Nagorno-Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan. The reason for this is that the Armenian authorities recognized it in different episodes and with a creative approach. With these dates, we demonstrate how Robert Kocharyan, Serzh Sargsyan, Edward Nalbandian, and Vardan Oskanyan, with the support of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation, recognized Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan with various creative approaches,” she said.
