Casualties in Gaza Since October 7 Reach Alarming Numbers
Since October 7, the number of casualties in the Gaza Strip due to Israeli airstrikes has reached 15,899, with injuries totaling 42,000. This information has been reported by the enclave's Ministry of Health.
It is important to note that Israel faced an unprecedented scale of rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip on October 7. Israel and Hamas had reached an initial agreement mediated by Qatar on November 22, a resolution since the escalation of the conflict on October 7.
The four-day ceasefire took effect on November 24 and was subsequently extended twice; first for two days, then for an additional day. Last Friday morning, the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, the ruling Palestinian movement in the Gaza Strip, expired, and no official announcement has been made regarding its renewal.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that Hamas violated the ceasefire by firing into Israeli territory, prompting Israeli military forces to resume operations against the Palestinian movement in the Gaza Strip.
