‘Tatever’ Takes First Place in ‘World’s Best Cable Car’ Category
‘Tatever’ cable car has received the prestigious international award from the tourism sector, known as the ‘World Travel Awards’. This information was reported on the official website of the awards ceremony.
It is noted that the 30th awards ceremony was held on December 1 in Dubai. Through an open voting process, ‘Tatever’ secured the first place in the ‘World’s Best Cable Car’ category.
The honorary award was received by Davit Vardanian, the son of Ruben Vardanian, the founder of the ‘Tatever’ project. “My father should have received this award, but as you know, he and dozens of Armenians have been unlawfully detained by the Azerbaijani authorities for political reasons and are in a prison in Baku. I hope he will personally receive the next award,” Davit Vardanian said during the ceremony.
It is worth noting that the ‘World Travel Awards’ is often referred to as the “Oscars of Tourism.” Founded in 1993, it is recognized as the standard for significant achievements in the travel and hospitality sector.
This is the second time ‘Tatever’ has been recognized as the world’s best cable car, having previously received the award in 2021.
‘Tatever’ is recorded in the Guinness World Records as the longest passenger cable car in the world (5752 meters).
