They Are Just Cowards: Lavrov

The early departure of U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and European diplomacy chief Josep Borrell from the capital of Macedonia, where they met with the foreign ministers of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), demonstrates their fear of dialogue. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during a press conference following the OSCE Foreign Ministers' Council meeting.

According to reports by RIA Novosti, Lavrov commented, 'As I understand, Blinken has left, and Borrell has too. Why is this happening? Well, they probably think that they are emphasizing their intention of isolating Russia. But I believe they are just cowards, afraid of any sincere, fact-based conversation. My colleague Secretary Blinken has fled, but I am not going anywhere.'

It is worth noting that the OSCE Foreign Ministers' Council meeting was held in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia.
