Death Toll in Gaza Surges After Israel Resumes Attacks

More than 20 Palestinians have been killed following Israel's resumption of attacks on Gaza, according to health officials in the enclave reported by Al Jazeera.

The Israeli army is distributing flyers calling for residents in the bombed areas of southern Gaza to evacuate.

It is noteworthy that the Israeli military restarted its operations in Gaza today. The Palestinian group Hamas has not provided Israel with a list of hostages that were supposed to be released by 7 AM this morning. Furthermore, Hamas has violated the ceasefire agreement by launching rockets towards Israel.

In response, the Israel Defense Forces announced that they have resumed attacks against the group. The IDF also indicated that its aircraft are conducting a series of airstrikes targeting Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

The statement from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office asserted that Hamas has “violated the agreement, failed to release all female hostages, and fired rockets at Israel.”

“In the context of renewed fighting, we emphasize that the Israeli government is committed to achieving the objectives of the war—releasing our hostages, dismantling Hamas, and ensuring that Gaza can never again threaten the people of Israel,” the statement read.
