Video: Incident Between Police and Citizen in Gyumri - What Is Known
Another incident occurred yesterday in Gyumri between police officers and a citizen, which again ended with the use of violence against the citizen by a police officer.
Gyumri resident Gor Torosyan reported that on November 15, a police officer stopped his car in Vardanants Square and fined him for having a child sitting next to an adult in the front seat. Gor agreed that he had committed a violation and did not contest the administrative act.
However, when they got into their cars to leave, he noticed that the police officer was also committing a violation. While driving, he was talking on the phone and was not wearing a seatbelt.
This led to a confrontation, during which the officer struck the citizen, twisting his arm in front of the child and causing injury.
In an interview with Aurora News, Zarzand Gabrielyan, head of the Media Relations, Analysis, and Information Department of the RA Police, stated that a service investigation has been initiated regarding the incident.
