Zakhrova on Armenia's Actions
Maria Zakharova, the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, has called for patience regarding the concrete actions of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. During her weekly briefing, she responded to a question from NEWS.ru about Pashinyan's possible participation in the EAEU meeting and the unofficial summit of the CIS countries, which will be held in December in St. Petersburg.
According to the diplomat, it is necessary to form a position and comment on the actions of the Armenian authorities based on reality. “Here, we should not proceed from hopes but from concrete facts,” Zakharova clarified.
Earlier, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov announced that Pashinyan might attend the unofficial traditional meeting of the CIS leaders in St. Petersburg. He expressed hope that the Armenian Prime Minister would come to receive the baton from Russian President Vladimir Putin and to assume the presidency during the session.
Commenting on the potential visit of the Russian president to Armenia, Ushakov stated that it could happen “one day.”
