VIDEO: Protesters Cause Disturbances in Kosovo
Supporters of Kosovo's former Albanian Liberation Army organized disturbances in Pristina due to the arrival of Ekaterina Trendafilova, the president of the special court for Kosovo war crimes, in The Hague. This information was reported by "Kosovo Online."
The judge was staying at the "Sirius" hotel in Pristina, where a crowd of protesters had gathered around. The participants of the action brought placards against the special court and the Serbian community in Kosovo. Clashes erupted between them and the police. Law enforcement arrested several protesters.
It is noteworthy that the Hague special court is holding hearings regarding the former leader of the self-proclaimed Republic of Kosovo, former UN field commander Hashim Thaci, former speaker of the Kosovo parliament Jakup Krasniqi, and former deputy of the "Self-Determination" party, Rexhep Selimi, all of whom claim to be completely innocent. They are all accused by the special prosecutor's office (SPO) of committing war crimes during the conflict in the territories of Kosovo and Northern Albania from 1998 to 1999, which resulted in the deaths of hundreds of people.
