VIDEO: "There Will Come a Time When Armenians and Azerbaijanis Will Live Side by Side" - Alen Simonyan
Recent events indicate that it is unlikely for Armenians to return to Stepanakert, Shushi, or Baku, and other places that have historically been Armenian, in the near future. This was stated by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, during a conversation with journalists.
"But we must understand that when we speak of a peace treaty, we are simply talking about a peace treaty, whether we are truly mentally ready to move towards peace. Peace must be built today by excluding hate speech and ethnic cleansing. Currently, there are no Armenians left in Artsakh, and the Russians say there is no provocation or shooting. A time will come, and it will happen naturally, when Armenians and Azerbaijanis will need to live side by side and engage in trade," he said.
