Ukraine or Russia: Who Received the Scythian Gold After 10 Years of Legal Disputes?

The Eastern Crimea Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve firmly disagrees with the Dutch court's decision to transfer the Scythian gold to Kyiv. This was stated by the institution's press service to RBC.

Notably, the historical collection of ancient treasures from the Crimean museums known as the 'Scythian Gold' has been returned to Ukraine after a legal dispute with Russia that lasted about 10 years, according to BBC Russian service. A total of 565 items, including jewelry and sculptures, have been brought from the Netherlands to Kyiv.

According to the National Museum of History of Ukraine, the collection, which includes bronze swords, gold helmets, and gemstones, will be stored in Kyiv until the 'de-occupation of Crimea.'

The media reports that both Ukraine and Russia claimed ownership of this collection, but the Dutch courts supported Kyiv.
