Poland Decides to Tighten the Blockade on Ukraine

Polish transporters will begin a round-the-clock blockade at the "Medica-Shegini" border crossing between Poland and Ukraine starting today. This was announced by Andrey Demchenko, a representative of the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service, during a Ukrainian television marathon. RIA Novosti reports this news.

Until November 26, traffic at this crossing was blocked from 10 AM to 9 PM. The Ukrainian State Border Guard Service had previously reported that Polish transporters planned to block the movement of cargo vehicles at the "Medica" crossing during the previous Thursday. According to these reports, the blockade could last until November 26.

Since November 6, Polish transporters have begun blocking vehicle crossings at the border with their eastern neighbor. They demand the reinstatement of the license system for Ukrainian commercial transporters (with exceptions for humanitarian aid and supplies for Abu), the suspension of licenses for companies established in Ukraine since February 2022, and the inspection of these companies, as well as the separation of queues for empty and loaded vehicles.

Negotiations between Kyiv and Warsaw have yet to yield results. On Saturday, Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine is facing difficulties due to the "political actions" of its neighbors along the western border, at the same time expressing hope that the situation will be resolved.
