Record Numbers: Ukraine Reports Attack by 75 Kamikaze Drones Overnight

Ukrainian Air Forces have reported a record figure of 75 kamikaze drones used in an overnight attack. According to BBC Russian service, Russia launched a significant number of strike drones against Ukraine on Saturday night.

They claim that around 75 Shahed-131/136 type attack drones were utilized in the mass assault on Ukraine, of which 71 drones were destroyed by air defense systems. BBC reports that the Russian side has not commented on this.

It has been reported that the Air Forces did not specify how many drones were shot down directly over Kyiv. According to Mikhail Shamanov, spokesperson for the city's military administration, this was the most massive attack on Kyiv in the past month. The administration believes that approximately 50 drones were intercepted over the capital.

It is known that the air alert in Ukraine's capital lasted for 6 hours and 8 minutes. It's worth recalling that earlier reports indicated that Russia had launched massive strikes against Ukraine, with Kyiv becoming the primary target of the attack.
