Family members suspected that the head of the household had decided to settle accounts with his wife and daughter in hopes of receiving 400 rupees from the state in insurance money. During the investigation, it was revealed that no one heard the screams of the mother and child, and after the attack, the cobra behaved unusually and remained in the room.
Traces of narcotic substances were found in the victims' blood. The father of the family has been detained and confessed to purchasing the snake from the market and releasing it in the room where his wife and daughter were sleeping.
