Who Will Not Pay Tuition Fees: Pashinyan Provides Details on the 'Academic City' Project
The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, addressed the citizens of Armenia and compatriots from the diaspora during a live broadcast, providing details about the Academic City project. He stated, "The Academic City must include all universities, and there should be up to eight public universities funded by the state budget," reminding that currently universities receive partial funding from the state and also raise funds through tuition fees.
Pashinyan also mentioned that for Armenian students demonstrating adequate progress, their education will be free, and they will not have to pay tuition fees. He further discussed the prospects of the activities and merger of universities and research institutes, noting that if licensing were to meet international standards, no Armenian university would meet those standards.
It is important to note that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took questions from citizens during the live broadcast, receiving around 500 inquiries. He announced that he could not respond to all of them, but questions containing specific issues would be directed to the relevant authorities.
