Video: I Must Be Very Careful When Responding to Such Questions, Says Pashinyan

Mariam Z.

Snezana Tamrazyan, a resident of Kapan in the Syunik province and a lawyer by profession, posed a question to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Following her forced displacement from Artsakh, she is now facing difficulties in obtaining employment after having applied to the General Jurisdiction Court of Syunik Province. Although she has completed her probation period, an issue arose regarding her citizenship status in Armenia, preventing her from proceeding with her paperwork.

Tamrazyan inquired about potential solutions that could allow displaced individuals from Artsakh, who are facing similar obstacles, to work under temporary contracts or expedite the citizenship process. “We can show special consideration for those who have been forcibly displaced and have already applied for public service positions. Because aside from public servants, there is no requirement for Armenian citizenship to work in other positions. I will advocate for the cases of our sisters and brothers forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh to be processed more quickly. I must be very careful when responding to such questions, in order to avoid harming our country's democratic essence and its standing in the international arena,” the Prime Minister responded.
