Egypt's President Calls for the Creation of a Demilitarized Palestinian State
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah as-Sisi expressed hope during a press conference in Cairo with the Prime Ministers of Spain and Belgium that the four-day ceasefire between the Israeli army and the Palestinian Hamas movement will continue.
“We hope that the ceasefire will be extended so that the flow of aid to Gaza can continue,” he stated.
The Egyptian president also proposed the establishment of a demilitarized Palestinian state that would exist alongside Israel under international forces' control.
“We are ready for the demilitarization of Palestine, and there will be guarantees in the form of NATO forces, the UN, Arab forces, and American forces,” as-Sisi said.
