One of the Injured Citizens Has Died: Avanesyan on the Condition of the Injured from the Fire at YSU
As a result of the fire that broke out at Yerevan State University (YSU), one of the injured citizens has died. This was reported by Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan on her Facebook page.
“Dear journalists, during the press briefing after today’s government meeting, while discussing the health conditions of the citizens injured in the incident at YSU, I presented the information available at the time of my visit yesterday to the ‘National Center of Burns and Dermatology’, when the conditions of both were assessed as serious. Unfortunately, the condition of one patient worsened sharply (which is also a characteristic of burn injuries). Resuscitation by medical staff was ineffective, and the patient could not be saved,” wrote Avanesyan.
“The condition of the other patient is stable at this time, and they have been transferred to a hospital room. Considering the surface area and depth of the burns, they will still need to remain under medical dynamic control,” Avanesyan added.
It should be noted that earlier it was reported that on November 17, a fire broke out in one of the basement rooms of the first building of YSU, after which there was an explosion. The Ministry of Health has confirmed that there is one fatality and several injured as a result of the explosion.
