Yerevan to Have Updated General Development Plan

The city of Yerevan will finally have an updated general development plan. The Yerevan Municipality has initiated work on developing a new general plan. This crucial document, which ensures the strategic development of the city, is outdated and no longer meets current demands.

Moreover, various discrepancies have emerged due to years of irregular construction. "In addition to promoting urban planning programs and regulated construction, as well as having a road and transport network, the general plan aims to create favorable urban conditions for Yerevan residents. With the support of partner organizations, all necessary data currently existing in the city will be gathered and coordinated, which will serve as the basis for implementing the project. It will be a digitized document reflecting the continuous development of the city, ensuring dynamic and balanced growth for Yerevan," wrote Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan on his Facebook page.
