Another 'Trap': What Inaccuracy Exists in the Road Markings at the Tigran Mets-Kristapor Crossroads?
Drivers who contacted us report that another 'trap' has been set up in Yerevan to unfairly penalize drivers. At the Tigran Mets-Kristapor crossroads, there is a traffic sign that indicates straight and right turns. However, there is also new road marking present that only shows a right turn. This naturally creates confusion among drivers, leading them to violate traffic rules and subsequently get fined.
Auroranews contacted Hayk Evoyan, head of the Transport Department of the Yerevan Municipality, who stated, "We are aware of the issue; the road markings need to be changed and will be corrected during the day." When asked whether fines related to this marking error would be revoked, he mentioned, "Any similar inaccuracies or discrepancies can be challenged in the traffic police; no general action has been taken."
Evoyan noted that even if the municipality makes a general announcement, it does not provide grounds for the traffic police to revoke all fines.
"If a mistake has been made and an incorrect fine has been imposed, it should be contested according to the proper procedure," he concluded.
