Second Criminal Case Launched Against Alexey Arestovich in Ukraine

The National Police of Ukraine has launched a criminal case against Alexey Arestovich, a former adviser to the head of the President's Office. This was reported by Meduza.

The statement from the press service does not directly mention Arestovich but indicates that the police received a complaint from Ukrainian parliament members regarding a citizen of Ukraine who filed a report on a crime committed by a member of parliament with the State Bureau of Investigations.

As noted by UNIAN, the matter concerns a conflict between Arestovich and Member of Parliament Natalia Pipa. In the summer, Pipa reprimanded a man performing Viktor Tsoi’s songs on the streets of Lviv. In response, he began to insult her, prompting the MP to report to the police.

At the same time, Arestovich filed a complaint with the State Intelligence Bureau of Ukraine, accusing Pipa of “fostering interethnic hatred in the country.” Subsequently, 29 MPs filed a report with the police against Arestovich for intentionally providing false information regarding a criminal offense (Article 383, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), under which the police have initiated a criminal case.

It is noted that this is the second criminal case against Arestovich in Ukraine.
