Photos: ML Mining Trucks Are Destroying Roads While Driving, Says 'Zhoghavor' Newspaper
The employees of the Anti-Corruption Court are raising alarms once again. The scandal surrounding the ML Mining company continues, as reported by the 'Zhoghavor' newspaper.
The firm is linked to David Sukiasyan, the former head of the Special Investigative Service of Armenia. According to the newspaper, the company is causing serious issues for the staff of the Anti-Corruption Court. In particular, the ML Mining office is located nearby the Anti-Corruption Committee, and the company’s vehicles, including trucks, are damaging the roads while driving, making it difficult for other vehicles to pass on those roads.
Footage captured by 'Zhoghavor' shows that there are stones on the road, rendering it impassable, and the cause is the vehicles participating in the company’s construction processes.
'Zhoghavor' also reports that on November 3, the Ministry of Environment of Armenia rejected the ML Mining company’s proposal, and they are contesting the ministry's rejections in court. The Ministry of Environment did not provide a positive conclusion for ML Mining to conduct extraction work in the southwestern section of the Artens Perlite Sand Quarry in the Aragatsotn region, which has led ML Mining to sue the ministry, demanding that the court obligate the ministry to issue a positive state expert conclusion on the environmental impact assessment report for the extraction activities in that area.
