Armed Robbery Attempt with Grenade at Bank in Echmiadzin

On November 14, an extraordinary incident took place in the Armavir region. According to Shamshyan.com, at around 5:10 AM, law enforcement officials thwarted an armed robbery attempt at the 'Fast Bank' branch located at 14/79 Mashtots Avenue in Vagharshapat.

“Information was received that a citizen armed with a combat grenade entered the bank and, pulling the grenade's pin and threatening to detonate it, demanded that the 23-year-old cashier hand over all the cash in the vault. Fortunately, the cashier was alert, and the police and patrol officers who arrived at the scene were able to deceive and disarm the suspect. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of robbery and illegal possession of ammunition, and taken to the Vagharshapat police department,” the site reports.

According to the site, the suspect is a 29-year-old man from the Armavir region, whose name has not been disclosed.
