The Armenian government will continue to issue old sample passports to its citizens. This was announced by Armen Ghazaryan, the head of the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, during a session of the National Assembly.
Ghazaryan noted that efforts are underway to modernize the system, including the issuance of identification cards and the automation of public certification processes.
VahAGN Aleksanyan, a member of the ruling Civil Contract faction, commented, stating, “The chips in our ID cards and passports are considered outdated worldwide, and we must renew them.”
The MP inquired about how long it will take for citizens to receive their ID cards and biometric passports. For more details, watch the video.
