Police Officer's Vehicle Crashes into Road Sign in Vayots Dzor, Injured Children Reported

A traffic accident occurred today in the Vayots Dzor region. According to Shamshyan.com, around 12:20 PM, a Mercedes vehicle driven by 34-year-old V. Poghosyan from Gegharkunik Province veered off the right lane to the left on the 129 km section of the Yerevan-Meghri interstate highway and struck a road sign under unknown circumstances.

It is reported that among those hospitalized are children. "As a result of the accident, passengers A. Rubenyan, 34, M. Poghosyan, 7, S. Poghosyan, 31, and L. Poghosyan, 10, all residents of Gegharkunik Province, were taken to the 'Yeghegnadzor' medical center with bodily injuries," the report states.

According to the site's information, the driver of the crashed vehicle works in the National Police of the Republic of Armenia's Main Directorate of State Protection in Martuni as a police officer.
