Iraqi Armed Groups Attack US Base
Iraqi armed groups have announced that they attacked a US base located in the Al-Qarya Al-Khadra area in southeastern Syria. This was reported by the Syrian Sham FM radio station, citing a statement from the "Iraqi Islamic Resistance" forces. The information was transmitted by RIA Novosti.
The Iraqi Islamic Resistance forces stated that they struck the US-occupied base in Syria's Al-Qarya Al-Khadra region using a drone. The drone hit the target with direct strikes, as the radio station reported.
Last night, Iraqi Resistance forces, which include Shia armed groups, also announced an attack on the US "Green Village" military base in eastern Syria. According to Al Mayadeen television, US military bases located in eastern and northeastern Syria, specifically the "Ash-Shaddadi" and "Koniko" bases, have also come under attack.
As a result of the strikes on the "Koniko" military base, American soldiers were reported killed, according to the television channel citing its sources. The attack is noted to be a response to the US strikes on two targets in Eastern Syria.
The US military has 24 bases and 4 checkpoints within Syria. American military bases in Syria have been frequently targeted by drone and missile attacks. The US armed forces are reportedly illegally controlling territories in eastern and northeastern Syria, particularly in the Deir ez-Zor, Al-Hasakah, and Raqqa provinces, which host some of Syria's largest oil and gas fields. Official Damascus has described the presence of US troops in its territory as an occupation and state piracy aimed at the blatant theft of oil.
