Financial Aid to Families of Victims from Explosion in Artsakh Under Discussion by City Hall
The Yerevan City Hall is discussing the provision of financial support to the families of those who died as a result of an explosion at a fuel depot near the Stepanakert-Askeran highway in Artsakh. This information was shared with Auroranews by the press secretary of the Yerevan mayor, Haik Kostanyan.
“Yes, discussions are currently underway on this issue,” the spokesperson elaborated, adding that the amount of aid has not yet been finalized.
It is important to remember that on September 25, a powerful explosion occurred at a fuel depot in the area adjacent to the Stepanakert-Askeran highway during the forced deportation of Armenians due to Azerbaijan’s military aggression against Artsakh. Preliminary reports indicate that around 220 people have died as a result of the explosion. The Armenian Investigative Committee also lacks accurate data, as the situation is constantly evolving.
