The Yerevan-Sevan highway is currently blocked. Citizens have reported this to MediaHub.

It is noted that since yesterday, the road has been one-way due to ongoing asphalt works, however, the situation is not being managed properly.

“There are no patrol officers present, the traffic jam is extending, and the Abovyan road is also overloaded. The congestion is stretching for kilometers. I am surprised that at this hour there is no order, there are no patrols,” said a source from the media.

Auroranews contacted the head of the Police Public Relations and Information Department, Zarzand Gabrielyan, who informed us that construction works are underway on the Yerevan-Sevan highway, and this section is fully equipped with traffic control signs. Moreover, the patrol service is at the location monitoring the situation.

In response to a clarifying question about the cause of the congestion given the presence of patrols, Gabrielyan mentioned that due to significant construction, it is possible that traffic jams may arise.
