Israel Announces Strikes on Syria in Response to Attack in Eilat

The Israel Defense Forces have announced airstrikes in Syria in response to a drone attack on a school in Eilat. This was reported by the Russian service of the BBC.

The statement from the Israel Defense Forces indicates that the strikes were aimed at the organization that launched the drone, but it does not specify who is behind the attack, where it originated from, or what exactly was targeted in the retaliatory strikes.

"The Syrian regime bears full responsibility for all terrorist actions carried out from Syrian territory. Any attempt to harm the territory of the State of Israel will be met with a strong response from the Israel Defense Forces," the statement read.

Previously, it was reported that no one was seriously injured due to the drone falling on the elementary school.
