Due to Poor Functioning of Armenian Checkpoint, 600 Trucks Unable to Enter Armenia
For the past 2-3 days, truck drivers at the Bagratashen checkpoint on the Armenia-Georgia border have been unable to enter Armenia due to poor performance of the Armenian checkpoint. This has been reported to SHAMSHYAN.com, with one driver stating that they haven’t been home for two weeks as they traveled to cities in Russia and are now returning to Armenia. However, they have been stuck on the Georgian side for several days because the Armenian side is not operating efficiently or is completely non-functional. Meanwhile, the Georgian authorities have indicated they cannot let the trucks through to avoid congestion.
According to reports, there are currently about 600 trucks backed up on the Georgian side, and the drivers have no information on how much longer they will have to wait for the Armenian checkpoint to open and allow them entry into Armenia.
