VIDEO: Financial Aid of 50,000 Drams to Be Provided to Those Displaced from Artsakh in November-December

Those forcibly displaced from Artsakh will receive a financial aid of 50,000 drams in November and December to cover primary social expenses. This was announced during a government meeting by the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Narek Mkrtchyan.

He noted that the beneficiaries of the initiative will be those receiving social support of 100,000 drams, with certain exceptions.

Individuals residing temporarily in hotels or guesthouses as of November 15, those who are not in Armenia, and those with more than 2 million drams in their bank accounts will not be eligible for this assistance. This provision applies not to family members or children but rather to individuals holding such funds. An exception will be made for those receiving compensation from the soldiers' insurance fund.

Those registered in Armenia prior to displacement will not be able to benefit from the program. Programs will have the opportunity to verify the aggregated balances of their bank accounts.

To receive financial support, a one-time electronic application will be required. "We will begin accepting applications starting next week. The procedure for submitting applications will also be presented in the coming days. Payments will be made in a cashless manner. For this purpose, it will be necessary to allocate around 10 billion drams from the reserve fund," the minister stated.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan emphasized that the rationale behind these programs is to encourage forcibly displaced individuals to move out of hotels and settle elsewhere, allowing hotels to return to their business operations.
