VIDEO: "Three People Resigned Their Mandates to Support Their Friend Levon Kocharyan," Nazaryan
“I do not think that the Attorney General would become serious enough to enter the National Assembly and try to deprive Levon Kocharyan of his parliamentary mandate. If that happens, it would mean that the prosecutor is simply playing with his own reputation. I believe this fabricated case will not continue,” stated Gegham Nazaryan, a member of the "Armenia" faction, in a conversation with reporters at the National Assembly.
In response to claims that the parliamentary mandate is taken to secure release from custody, Nazaryan noted that the ruling party holds the majority in parliament and can allow someone to be detained at any time: “I do not think this is an attempt or a means to get released from custody,” he said.
The deputy emphasized that three individuals have resigned their mandates to support their friend, Levon Kocharyan.
