Video: A Young Man Attacks a Local Military Recruitment Officer in Ukraine

In Zhytomyr, a young man has attacked an employee of the Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support. The corresponding video has surfaced online.

The footage shows a young man physically assaulting a man in uniform. The assailant left the scene after three other military personnel approached.

Victoria Dubovik, the press secretary of the National Police in the Zhytomyr region, confirmed to Suspilne that the incident indeed involved the assault of a center employee. The employee filed a report with the police, stating that the incident occurred in Zhytomyr around noon today.

“He was there on official duties with colleagues. According to him, an unknown man attacked him, causing bodily harm, and fled the scene,” said the police spokesperson.

Law enforcement has initiated criminal proceedings under Article 125 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (deliberate light bodily harm). The victim has been given a referral for a forensic medical examination.

“The assailant's identity has been established. He is currently being searched for, as it is already known that he has left the borders of Zhytomyr,” the police added.
