Will Arthur Vanetsyan Be Arrested? Media Reports
The Prosecutor's Office has not commented on whether there is a decision to initiate criminal prosecution against Arthur Vanetsyan or to arrest him, nor have they denied it. This is reported by "Pastinfo."
Earlier, the media cited its own sources within the law enforcement system, stating that the political authorities have tasked law enforcement agencies with involving the former Director of the National Security Service of Armenia, the previous head of the "We Have Honor" faction, Major General Arthur Vanetsyan, in the case related to the ZMPC. The possibilities of criminal prosecution and detention are even being considered.
"Pastinfo" had requested a comment from the Prosecutor General's Office, which asked to send a written inquiry. We will send that inquiry and publish the response immediately after receiving it. Nevertheless, it should be emphasized that law enforcement has not explicitly denied the news verbally," the article states.
It is also noted that Arthur Vanetsyan is currently outside of Armenia. In response to the media's inquiry, he stated that he is abroad due to work commitments and will return in a few days, and he does not rule out the possibility of a new staged action against him.
Recall that earlier it was reported that a criminal case has been initiated against a citizen who illegally legalized 12.5% of the shares of ZPMK. K.V. (Karen Vanetsyan) illegally acquired and managed property worth at least 14 billion 526 million 300 thousand drams through an offshore company with 1 billion drams and 13 million US dollars. The shares were actually owned by M.M. (Mikael Minasian), who served as Armenia's Ambassador to the Vatican from 2013 to 2018, and were registered under the name "Zangezur Mining" LLC. By using a pre-developed criminal scheme, an obviously unprofitable contract was signed between the company owned by M.M. and ZPMK. As a result, ZPMK paid particularly large interest amounts to the company owned by M.M.
