Two Police Officers Charged with Corruption
Two officers from one of the police divisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have been accused of corruption. They allegedly offered three individuals a bribe of 150,000 Armenian drams each, and 100,000 drams to a fourth person, in exchange for accepting them into the police service, to which they agreed.
This information has been reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia. Subsequently, the process of enrolling the mentioned individuals was organized.
"Three individuals have been enrolled in the police service, while the enrollment of the fourth was not carried out due to health issues, and the 100,000 drams accepted as a bribe have been returned," stated the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The powers of these police officers have been temporarily suspended, and the documents obtained from the internal investigation have been sent to the preliminary investigation body. A criminal proceeding has been initiated by the Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia. The internal investigation and the criminal proceedings are currently ongoing.
