Aliyev: ‘If They Had Listened to My Words, the Second Nagorno-Karabakh War Would Not Have Happened’

“I have repeatedly stated, addressing the leadership of Armenia: if you do not leave ‘our lands’ (referring to the Republic of Artsakh), you will confront us on the battlefield,” said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

“If the Armenian leadership and certain external forces standing behind them had listened to my words at that time and today, the second Nagorno-Karabakh war would not have happened. I have repeatedly said, addressing the leadership of Armenia: if you do not leave our lands, you will confront us on the battlefield,” Aliyev added.

He continued his “game-oriented” declaration, stating that “Azerbaijan does not need a new war. We have achieved our goals, restored international law, and national dignity.”
