What Restrictions Are Expected for Migrants in Russia
The control over foreign nationals in Russia should be intensified, especially regarding the acceptance of citizenship, provision of residence permits, and temporary stay permits. This was stated by the Russian Minister of Internal Affairs, Vladimir Kolokoltsev. The information was reported by gazeta.ru.
"It is necessary to tighten the oversight of foreigners accepting Russian citizenship, as well as the issuance of temporary residence permits and residence permits. This includes monitoring for changes in data and existing entry bans to Russia," the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was quoted by TASS.
Kolokoltsev believes that migrant detection should be more thorough, especially for those who evade fingerprinting and photographing. According to the minister, those citizens who pose a threat to public safety should be expelled while simultaneously revoking their legal statuses.
Previously, Kolokoltsev discussed the schemes used by foreigners to remain in Russia, including fake marriages, falsification of results from Russian language tests, and creating false invitations. Migrants whose entry is banned have attempted to return using counterfeit documents.
