Italy Launches Putin's Seized Superyacht

Italy has launched Putin's seized superyacht, according to theins.ru. Maria Pevchikh, head of the Anti-Corruption Foundation, stated that through the organization’s investigation, the yacht's operations had been halted for renovations, and the crew has not been removed from their positions.

“If the Italian government allows Scheherazade to escape for any reason, it will be the greatest shame and the most significant blow to the EU's sanctions policy. You cannot return Putin his yacht; that is simply madness,” Pevchikh said.

It became known that “Scheherazade” belongs to Putin following an investigation by Navalny's team. Investigators reviewed a complete list of all personnel working on the yacht. The list was compiled at the same Italian port where the yacht was discovered, Marina di Carrara. The document contained the name of each crew member along with all their details, from birth dates to visa numbers. All names were in Russian, and nearly all were associated with the Federal Security Service (FSB).

The construction of Putin's yacht cost €583.1 million. The yacht was seized by the Italian government in May. The financial police confirmed a significant economic and business relationship between the actual owner of the “Scheherazade” yacht and prominent representatives of the Russian government.
