Israel Prepared for 'Small Pauses' in Fighting, Netanyahu Says
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that the country is willing to consider the possibility of 'small tactical pauses' during fighting in the Gaza Strip to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid and allow for the release of hostages held by Hamas.
Netanyahu emphasized that while these pauses might occur, Israel rejects any ceasefire or weakening of its military operations. He stated, 'I believe that Israel should take overall security responsibility for an indefinite period, as we have seen what happens when we do not have that responsibility.'
