Nuclear Strike Is One of the Options: Israeli Minister's Statement and Netanyahu's Response

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected the possibility of dropping a nuclear bomb on the Gaza Strip, following statements made by Minister Amichai Eliyahu regarding the Jewish state's dealings with the enclave. This was reported by Radio Kan, with information provided by TASS.

Eliyahu's remarks, which suggested that nuclear strikes could be considered, were dismissed by Netanyahu, who emphasized, "Amichai Eliyahu's words do not reflect reality and are disconnected from it. Israel and the IDF operate in accordance with the highest standards of international law, and we will continue to do so until victory."

During a broadcast on Kol Berama Radio, when asked whether a nuclear bomb should be dropped on the Palestinian enclave, Eliyahu indicated that "this is one of the options." Later, he clarified that, "it is clear to any reasonable person that the assertion regarding the atomic bomb is metaphorical." He concluded by stating, "However, we (Israel) definitely need a powerful and disproportionate response to terrorism."
