How Much Money Was Spent on Tigran Avinyan's Inauguration Ceremony: CivilnetCheck

Reports have been circulating in the media about the cost of Tigran Avinyan's inauguration ceremony in Yerevan, with claims that 87 million drams, or approximately 220 thousand dollars, were spent from the community budget.

CivilnetCheck requested information from the Yerevan Municipality regarding the amount spent on the inauguration ceremonies of all Yerevan mayors. According to the municipality's response, Yerevan obtained community status in 2009, and the first inauguration ceremony was held at that time.

During the inauguration ceremony of former mayor Gagik Beglaryan (2009-2010), no funds were allocated from the community budget for this purpose. Information regarding the expenses for Karen Karapetyan's (2010-2011) inauguration ceremony has not been preserved. As for Taron Margaryan's (2011-2018) two inauguration ceremonies, the response indicated no funds were spent.

For Hayk Marutyan's inauguration ceremony (2018-2021), 900 thousand drams were spent, while Hrachya Sarksyan's (2021-2023) inauguration ceremony cost 18 million drams. As mentioned, Tigran Avinyan's inauguration ceremony incurred a cost of 87 million drams.
