US Sends 'Strong Warning' to Iran
The United States is sending a "strong warning" to Iran and urging restraint as the situation in the Middle East deteriorates. This was stated to CNN by John Kirby, the National Security Council's coordinator for strategic communications.
"We will certainly act, if necessary, to protect our troops and facilities. This is a serious warning that Iran needs to understand. We take our national security interests in the region very seriously, which is why President Biden has activated two carrier strike groups," Kirby said.
According to TASS, Kirby also added that the U.S. will make decisions to protect its military personnel "at any time of its choosing."
